About the Event

Come help us assess the health of the ponds in Roger Williams Park.  Every other Tuesday, a group of volunteer scientists meet at the Seal House to collect and analyze cyanobacteria samples under microscopes and with fluorometers.   No experience necessary, scientists from the The Nature Conservancy in Rhode Island will train you on the protocols used.  This information is shared collectively with EPA, RIDEM and RIDOH to better understand cyanobacteria blooms and issue advisories if dangerous blooms are occurring.  For more information and details contact Ryan at rkopp@asri.org
